Lamp Light Books Hotel

Lamp Light Books Hotel

I came to Nagoya for the Setomono Festival, one of the largest ceramics festivals in Japan. As it turned out, I was a week too early - a mix up resulting from the month beginning on a Sunday and from the festival date being announced only several weeks in advance, many months after I had planned this trip. While this left me in a dour mood, falling deeper and deeper into a pit of perpetual disappointment, I at least had the luxury of riding this out at Lamp Light Books Hotel, a cute, boutique hotel near the city center. The hotel also operates as a book store and cafe, but the books are free for guests to borrow. My room was snug but comfortable, with a view overlooking a small park. My weekend may have been less jam-packed than originally planned, but it was a relaxing breather before the whirlwind end of my trip.
