Cassis

Cassis is a cute little town close to Marseille and a good half-day trip or stopping point before visiting the calanques. Honestly, I was emotionally going through some things, so my plans for this day were a last minute afterthought, and I didn’t do much more than stroll around town. Despite it all, it was a nice little excursion from Marseille.

A couple tips:

If coming from Marseille, it is better to take the bus. It drops you off right above the harbor, whereas the train station is quite the hike away from town.

A souvenir idea for anyone into scents: L’eau de Cassis is a perfumerie that has been in operation since 1851. They have a million different options, but the employees can easily guide you towards what you may be looking for.
